Graphistudio Wedding Photography Albums

Some time ago I made the decision to offer Graphistudio storybook wedding albums. This decision was made after looking at a few of the options available, most of which are similar quality, and similar price.
The decision to use Graphistudio was based on the fact that they are one of the most established and respected album producers in the industry, the service and design software they offer, and simply down the feel of the Italian quality in what you are able to deliver to wedding customers.
I recently had the pleasure of presenting two wedding couples with their albums, and have to report that they were very, very happy, not just with their photos, but also with the quality of their albums.
Here are some photos to show you what you can expect. The covers shown are die-cut leather, and crystal glance.

Historic Tram Lines in Rochdale

Rochdale is one of the latest towns to be served by the Metrolink tram system. It caught my attention the other day that, during the roadworks necessary to extend the line into the town centre, some of the lines were uncovered from the last time Rochdale was privileged to have a tram service. This sort of irony (sorry!) appeals to my sense of humour, so I thought I would share some photos with you.

Sportsman's Dinner Photography with John Hartson

Last night I had the pleasure of meeting John Hartson, a former professional footballer who played for Arsenal, West Ham and Celtic.
He was speaking at a sportsman's dinner held by Hollinwood Football Club, at the Best Western Smokies Park Hotel in Oldham.
My role was to take photos of guests with John, and to provide prints for them to take home with them on the night. I also had the opportunity to listen to John's talk, as he shared something of his life as a footballer, and his personal life.
Apart from some very funny stories from his life in the professional football world, involving other players and managers, John also shared a fair bit about his battle with cancer, which hit him aged 33. It is inspiring to see how his experiences have caused him to see where the real priorities lie in life, and to change his outlook on what really matters.
It was also refreshing to hear him recall his admiration for his father, and the way he is with his family, even travelling home after the event to make sure he had time with them before another busy day the following day.
I enjoyed the evening and left feeling that I had met a really nice guy, with a story to tell, and a heart to inspire and encourage people. And all that while I was working!

Published photos in Digital Film Maker magazine

One of the highlights of last year (if not my whole life!) was to be involved in the production of a short film called "The Flying Lesson".

Directed by Phil Hawkins (http://www.philm.co.uk/), and with a team of very talented and experienced people, plus some students from Salford University gaining experience working alongside the others on a real project, you can see more of what the film is about on the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/TheFlyingLesson

I had the pleasure of taking the behind-the-scenes/production stills photographs for the project (most of which are featured on the Facebook page), and which have been used to illustrate an article in this month's edition of Digital Film Maker magazine.

For a selection of the productions stills, you can also have a look at the album on my own Facebook business page for Howard Wilkinson Photography.

For a glimpse into the making of the short film, please watch the behind the scenes video, and for the trailer to the film, CLICK HERE.

Digital Film Maker magazine is available to purchase in newsagents.

And just as a special treat, here's a picture of the star of the film, "Huffy", a rather beautiful Tiger Moth.
